Own a unit in air building, very very disappointed in end product after purchasing off the plan in 2014.
The week before settlement after only inspection of unit my solicitor asked holdmarks solicitor if all (approx 30) defects had been rectified , they said they had, so we settled. What a mistake, not one defect had been attended to, 12 months on and we are still battling with the builder Holdmark to have our defects plus other unit defects plus common property defects to be rectified.
When hold mark does attempt to rectify something , the quality of workmanship is disgraceful.
This builder has no morals when it comes to delivery what was promised. DISGUSTING!!!
Will never ever deal with these people again.
Base coat only for paint
Burns and cigarette butts on floorboards
Chipped tiles in bathroom
Chipped kitchen cabinets
Bathroom tiles not siliconed
Paintwork on sliding doors chipped
Doors not hung straight
Water inside walls causing rising damp marks
Part of a ceiling not attached properly so it is saging
This list goes on and this is only inside our appartment.
All appartments are similar, the common property is also a shamble.
What a nightmare!!
My husband who is an office worker does a better job repairing than these tradies!!
We have tennants in and are so embarrassed to the quality.
Stay away from these builders!!!
Having over forty years of experience in construction I have never seen so much bad workmanship as in this building.
After purchasing off-the-plan through CBRE 2 1/2 years ago and recently settling (June 2016), I found the unit I had long waited for was not finished and with numerous defects within my unit and the property generally.
Some of the items are .......
Floor waste full of concrete/mortar.
Gouges & scratches in floating floor.
Laundry tub door not fitted.
No silicone applied in wet areas (bath & laundry closet).
Toilet not fixed down (fixings or silicone missing)
Two large holes in bedroom sliding door.
Polyurethane damage/peeling for kitchen panelling.
Wardrobe has missing shelves and hanging rod.
Generally walls, door frames and doors have only one top coat of paint. In some area only in undercoat. (i.e. in a few places you can see the pencil marks under the paint.
The list is to long to post here and you probably by now have the gist of things.
We have asked for this defects to be fixed numerous times and only a few items were done, but terribly ! (i.e. needing to be redone). In fixing one item would create damage to another.
After 2 months waiting we chose to do all the jobs ourselves and at our cost.
The builder’s tradesmen are still working around the property and are creating more damage and mess where ever they go.
So please beware what you get with this developer !!
